A tram journey to Bury brings us a full day of steam at the East Lancs Steam Gala with its real ale bars - the Trackside at Bury and the station buffet at Rawtenstall. Whilst at the intermediate station at Ramsbottom we have a tour and tasting at the Irwell brewery. Following a great day of steam and ale we return to our hotel in the city centre. DAY 3

This morning we board our vintage bus and travel to the nearby Heaton Park Tramway. Here we can take a ride on one of the four vintage electric trams and one horse drawn tram running on a stretch of track dating back to when the original Manchester Tramway used to operate into the park. In the afternoon we continue to the Lancashire Mining Museum where we enjoy a guided tour of the steam winding engine, headgear and collection of 28 colliery locomotives. We return to our hotel by vintage bus for an evening of leisure.

This morning we travel by rail to St Helens for our visit to the North West Museum of Road Transport located at the old St Helens Corporation Transport Bus depot. The collection includes many vintage buses as well as classic cars, trucks and fire engines.
