On this tour we visit Puglia, a region in Southern Italy renowned for its food and wine with fine coastal scenery and medieval cities. Puglia has plenty of railway interest and we will cover most of the private lines, some public ones, and visit a railway museum plus a visit to Matera in the neighbouring Basilicata region, which has gained international fame for its ancient towns.

This holiday features two of the finest railway journeys in Europe, with the Flam and Rauma railways offering jaw-dropping scenery as they descend from the mountains to deep fjords. We also visit maritime Bergen, home to a fine funicular railway, Trondheim, where we enjoy a ride on the world's most northerly tram line, and Oslo, where Viking longships can be seen at the Viking ship museum. Norway is a 'must visit' place for anyone interested in railways, great scenery, and fascinating culture.
