DAY 1
Arriving in the historic city of Bath, we make our way to our accommodation for the next two nights, our Grand 1 listed Georgian townhouse hotel, The Francis. There is time to settle in and have an early dinner before our private coach transfers us to the magnificent Longleat Estate to see the renowned festive lights. The illuminating spectacle consists of a myriad of magical and colourful displays that embellish the ornate Longleat Estate bringing the spirit of the festive season to lustrous light. Following our wonderful evening we return to our hotel by coach.
DDAY 2
Today we enjoy a day at leisure to explore the fascinating city of Bath that became a World Heritage site in 1987. We are free to immerse ourselves in Bath's remarkable collection of museums and galleries including the Jane Austen Centre, Fashion Museum and Victoria Art Gallery. We can discover the iconic buildings and architecture that have shaped this wonderful city including the Royal Crescent, Circus, Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge and of course the Roman Baths built in around 70AD as a grand bathing and socialising complex. The Roman Baths is one of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world, where 1,170,000 litres of steaming spring water, reaching 46°C, still fill the bathing site every single day, we can walk on ancient pavements as the Romans did 2,000 years ago, and explore chambers historically housing changing rooms and plunge pools. During our day we can even swim in the natural spring water at the modern Thermae Bath Spa. Our pre-Christmas break is also the perfect time to indulge in festive shopping at some of the city's many unique shops or alternatively we can travel by train to nearby Bristol. After our busy day we enjoy a relaxing dinner at our hotel.
B, DDAY 3
